When Our Journey Starts
Illuminatio Medical Technology (IMT) was founded by Prof. Simon Yu and Prof. Weitian Chen in 2019 with the vision of accelerating research translation for medical imaging. IMT received strong support from The Department of Imaging and Interventional Radiology under CUHK Medical School.
YEAR 2019
Selected into HKSTP
IMT was proudly admitted into Incubio, a 4-year incubation program for biotech start-ups under Hong Kong Science and Technology Park (HKSTP) in 2021. This marked an incredible moment for IMT, representing a milestone of stepping out from academia.

Standardization
Standardization is the key to improve efficiency in medical imaging. Too many protocols used by researchers without unified manners is what we have observed for a long time and this is a roadblock for maximizing the value of imaging data.

We believe that the value of medical imaging data couldn’t be fully utilized unless they can be freely transferred in the community. The transferability across research institutes and individuals empowers the process of innovation and fuels the research being translated into real-world impact.
